< - Back to home page Go to article homepage > USEL 40th Anniversary Ball is a huge success > USEL celebrated its 40th year in existence in style through a hugely successful Gala Ball! The event took place at the Stormont Hotel on 8 November 2002 and was hosted by Gene Fitzpatrick. The Back Beat Band, a nine piece live band provided superb entertainment. A diverse range of prizes added to the fun of the many organisations that participated in the event. David Russell, Chairperson of USEL gave a warm welcome to all and offered many thanks to the large number of organisations that made not only the event a special one, but also made the work of USEL worthwhile. Mitchel Wylie, Chief Executive of USEL stated, "This, our 40th year has been a momentous one for the Company. USEL is now operating in excellent new premises and has engaged in a substantial programme of expansion. This can be illustrated by the fact the USEL now supports 1000 people in employment".
